Sand casting involves creating an impression in sand, melting metal (silver in my case) and pouring the liquid metal into the sand mold.
The process has been an exercise in failure, defeat and success. In the beginning I couldn't get a high enough heat to melt my metal then I couldn't get the metal to fill the entire impression! Each problem had an answer and after each failure I would research, find out what I'd done incorrectly, make the necessary alterations, and try again.
The pieces shown here are the result of countless hours of learning and each holds a very special place in my heart.
I am photographing my newest pieces with a cool new camera and hope to have them looking their best before uploading them. Thanks for waiting!
